b3 Easy Exposure Compensation
Explanation: An „easy“ exposure compensation is simplified with regard to its handling, you can set it with the front command dial only and without pushing the exposure compensation butto
n. In aperture priority A you have to use the rear command dial instead.
Possible settings are:
- On (Auto Reset): The easy exposure compensation is enabled but remains effective only temporarily; it will disappear when the exposure metering switches off or when you switch the camera off and on.
- On: The easy exposure compensation is enabled and remains effective until you turn it back again with the command dial or other options of reset (switching operation modes with the mode dial, or a Reset).
When the exposure metering switches off or you turn the camera off and on it will not disappear.
- Off (default): The easy exposure compensation is disabled.
Tips: I like to change the default to On (Auto Reset). This allows to dial in an exposure compensation more easily, it also takes away the need to reset it because it will disappear after a while automatically.
And the option to set an exposure compensation as before with the exposure compensation button and the rear dial still works unchanged.
But this is a matter of personal preferences; if you do not like the risk to dial in an exposure compensation accidentally, just leave the standard setting „off“.
